Job Title: Primary Therapist - Addiction Specialist

Job Summary:

New Beginnings Detox & Recovery is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Primary Therapist - Addiction Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our treatment team, you will provide specialized individual and group therapies to clients struggling with addiction and substance abuse.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Direct Care: Lead daily group and individual therapy sessions, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for clients to share their experiences and work towards recovery.
  • Engage with Clients and Families: Actively involve family members, external providers, and other relevant parties in the treatment process, maintaining regular communication to provide updates and address questions promptly.
  • Document Client Progress: Complete progress notes in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) on the same day as the service is provided, ensuring the client's chart remains up-to-date.
  • Coordinate Comprehensive Services: Arrange and coordinate psychological, medical, psychiatric, vocational, housing, legal, case management, and recreational activities to ensure clients receive comprehensive care.
  • Monitor Client Attendance: Ensure clients participate in all scheduled services unless clinically excused or in detox status.
  • Ensure Timely Sessions: Ensure clients adhere to the daily schedule, and sessions start and end on time.
  • Review and Approve Client Pass Requests: Review and approve client and visitor pass requests for assigned clients.
  • Address Behavioral Issues: Address and resolve client behavioral issues promptly, documenting the outcomes.
  • Respond to Concerns: Respond promptly to any concerns or grievances from clients, family members, referral parties, or external providers, reporting complaints and subsequent actions to the CEO.
  • Ensure Discharge Planning: Ensure appropriate discharge planning is carried out, documented, and communicated to the client, including providing community resources.
  • Crisis Management: Be available for crisis management and handle clinical emergencies as needed.
  • Deliver Exceptional Customer Service: Deliver exceptional clinical hospitality and customer service to all clients.
  • Communicate with Upper Management: Respond promptly to communications from upper management and keep the Clinical Director informed about clinical updates, insurance authorizations, concerns, and emergencies.
  • Provide Clinical Leadership: Provide strong clinical leadership and support to the team.
  • Maintain a Positive Attitude: Maintain a positive, supportive, and therapeutic attitude.
  • Adhere to Organizational Structure: Adhere to the established line of authority and organizational structure.
  • Perform Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree: Master's degree in psychology or a related field preferred.
  • Valid Certification or State License: Must hold a valid Certification or State License to practice in California.
  • Ability to Assist Physically and Mentally: Ability to assist physically and mentally during emergencies.
  • Proficiency in Documentation: Proficiency in maintaining accurate and appropriate documentation.
  • Current TB Screen, Health Screening, and CPR/First Aid Certification: Must have a current TB screen, Health Screening, and CPR/First Aid Certification.
