Job Summary:

ICONMA is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist Specialist to join our team. As a Phlebotomist Specialist, you will be responsible for collecting and processing blood and other medical specimens for laboratory testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specimen Collection: Collect blood and other medical specimens from patients in a safe and efficient manner, following established protocols and procedures.
  • Sample Preparation: Label, centrifuge, and split specimens as required by test order, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Quality Control: Verify test requisitions and computer labels to ensure 100% accuracy, and package specimens for transport.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations, and attend annual department trainings to stay up-to-date on industry standards.
  • Communication: Explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures to patients in a clear and courteous manner, and answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience in phlebotomy or a related field, with a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and protocols.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required, with a focus on science and mathematics.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
