About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Counselor to join our team at Eckerd Connects' Short-Term Juvenile Justice Residential program. As a Youth Counselor, you will play a vital role in guiding and influencing group activities that enhance the youth's confidence and self-esteem.

Responsibilities
  • Lead group activities and provide individual counseling to help youth achieve their goals and overcome behavioral challenges.
  • Develop and implement therapeutic programs that promote strength-based development and rational living cognitive behavioral therapy.
  • Ensure the progress and welfare of each client and the group through secure supervision and crisis intervention techniques.
Requirements
  • 21 years of age or older per DJJ guidelines.
  • High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of two years' relevant experience working with youth.
  • Direct care experience in a therapeutic/rehabilitative setting preferred.
  • Ability to travel and participate in outdoor activities, including aquatic activities.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet Eckerd's Auto Insurance requirements.
