About the Role

Fred Finch Youth & Family Services is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at the Avalon program. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide mental health interventions and support to youth in a residential setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide and document mental health interventions for youth in accordance with their individualized treatment plan goals.
  • Build relationships with youth and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Participate in supervision, team meetings, and agency trainings to ensure best practices and continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, social work, counseling).
  • One year of experience providing counseling or support to youth, preferably in a mental health care setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the developmental stages of the population.
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to utilize de-escalation techniques.
  • Clean driving record and current CA Driver's License (or ability to obtain within 10 days).
  • Basic computer and keyboarding competence with Microsoft Office Suite and/or electronic clinical documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A minimum of one year of experience working with intellectually/developmentally disabled and/or emotionally disturbed youth in a residential treatment or wraparound program setting.
