Mercy Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary care team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care through the application of the nursing process.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to establish patient care plans and coordinate discharge or continuing care needs.
- Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments, initiate and maintain current nursing care plans, and identify patient learning needs to provide individualized and comprehensive teaching.
- Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with state practice and Mercy Health policies and procedures.
- Serve as a point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout the hospital departments and act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with spiritual care, palliative care, and ethics teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Current RN license in the state of practice or covered by compact.
- BLS Basic Life Support certification (preferred upon hire, must obtain from an approved source prior to direct patient care).
- ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (preferred).
- Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification RN-BC (Registered Nurse - Board Certified) (preferred).
- CCRN Critical Care Registered Nurse (preferred).
- PCCN Progressive Care Certified Nurse (preferred).
- CMSRN Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (preferred).
- National Institute of Health (NIH) Stroke Certification (preferred).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).
This role may involve periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads. You may be exposed to physical altercations and verbal abuse, and may be required to use physical restraints. You may also be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights, and may have periods of constant interruptions.
