Job Summary:

As a Cardiac Sonographer at John Muir Health, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of heart-related diseases. Under the direct supervision of a site physician, you will be responsible for producing high-quality images of the heart and its functioning using advanced ultrasound equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality images of the heart and its functioning.
  • Attach electrodes to patients' chests and operate equipment to record cardiac data and measurements.
  • Protect and assist patients during procedures.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a Cardiac Sonography Program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification preferred.
  • CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) certification preferred.
  • Ability to type 60 WPM with minimal errors.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in adult Transthoracic, Transesophageal, Stress echocardiography, EKG, and Holter monitor hook-up.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Excellent organizational, grammatical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a variety of ultrasound equipment.

Work Environment:

This role is exempt from overtime under the level of Manager. The work shift is 13:30 - 17:00, Monday to Friday, with 40 scheduled weekly hours.

Compensation:

The hourly rate for this position is $81.15, based on demonstrated experience and/or licensure.
