Senior Microbiologist

Job Summary

Abacus is seeking a highly skilled Senior Microbiologist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory, you will be responsible for performing environmental sampling and testing, as well as compendia microbial testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.

Key Responsibilities

Under the supervision of other scientists, work on problems of limited scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
Perform environmental sampling and testing, as well as compendia microbial testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products within scheduled timelines.
Maintain notebooks within GMP standards and SOPs, accurately reporting results and providing detailed records of results and conclusions.
Provide written and verbal updates on projects and activities as required.

Requirements

MS/BS in Chemistry/Pharmacy or equivalent experience.
0-5 years of applicable industry experience, preferably in pharmaceutical microbiology.
Working knowledge and application of scientific principles and aseptic techniques.
General knowledge of compendia microbiology requirements.
Experience with computer software associated with word processing and spreadsheets.

Working Environment

Our laboratory is a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of scientists. You will be required to sit, stand, walk regularly, and occasionally lift 0-15 pounds. You will also be required to be accessible to laboratory and pilot plant area(s) and office staff, and to use required office equipment.
