Respiratory Care Specialist

MedStar Health, a leading healthcare system in the Baltimore-Washington metro region, seeks a skilled Respiratory Care Specialist to join our team at Southern Maryland Hospital Center.
Job Summary:We are looking for a certified respiratory therapist who will provide exceptional patient care by demonstrating strong knowledge in the field of respiratory care. The ideal candidate will possess working knowledge of human respiratory anatomy, physiology, and pathology related to respiratory care, as well as the ability to assess hazardous conditions and take corrective action.
The successful candidate will be responsible for administering respiratory therapy treatments, operating various medical equipment, and responding to emergencies such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Responsibilities:- Assess the physical, psychosocial, spiritual & cultural dimensions of the patient as well as educational needs and document appropriately
- Perform all respiratory therapy treatments and services, including but not limited to: application, operation, monitoring, and management of all equipment and services provided
- Employ principles of therapeutic communication, interviewing techniques, problem solving and crisis intervention when performing patient care
- Associatedegree - Graduate of an AMA accredited program in respiratory care with an AAS Degree or higher
- CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) - NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist or NBRC Registered Pulmonary Function Technician from an accredited Respiratory Care Program is required
- BLS - Basic Life Supportrequired
We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
