Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Cashier Part Time Representative to join our team at BJ's Wholesale Club. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our members, processing transactions accurately and efficiently, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process member purchases in a courteous and friendly manner, including verifying, renewing, and upgrading membership products.
  • Scan merchandise through a point-of-sale system to ensure accurate inventory counts and purchase totals.
  • Collect payments via cash, check, or other charge payments from members.
  • Issue receipts or change due to members.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the frontline area and assist with general club housekeeping as needed.
  • Return re-sellable merchandise to the sales floor area.
  • Manage self-checkout and scan and pan lanes, and assist members with operations and technical difficulties.
Requirements
  • Basic math skills preferred.
  • Prior cashier or sales experience preferred.
Work Environment

The majority of the time will be spent moving about frequently on hard surfaces, with occasional need to position oneself to examine or scan merchandise, including bending, handling, pulling, reaching, and/or stooping. Frequently requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds, with occasional need to lift and move heavy and/or awkward objects greater than 30 pounds with assistance.

Located in a comfortable indoor area with infrequent exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises, with occasional exposure to cleaning agents.
