The Applied Genomics, Computation & Translational Core is seeking a dedicated Biomedical Technician to enhance our team. Our facility is a cutting-edge genomics laboratory that provides data generation and interpretation for both basic science and translational research, specializing in next-generation sequencing technologies, including single-cell omics, spatial transcriptomics, and bulk cell omics.
Core Responsibilities
The Biomedical Technician will engage in both wet and dry laboratory projects, adhering to all relevant Federal and State regulations, as well as Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting various project-specific process development tasks while following standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintaining accurate documentation in laboratory notebooks and databases.
- Performing lab maintenance, including cleaning and sterilizing glassware.
- Preparing the cGMP production area and managing material inventories.
- Operating specialized equipment and troubleshooting complex issues.
Department-Specific Duties
The technician will also be responsible for:
- Manual library preparation for bulk cell, single-cell, and spatial genomics.
- Executing all aspects of NGS library sequencing, including quality control analysis and determining sequencing parameters.
- Collaborating with technical support on library preparation and sequencing performance issues.
- Performing sample preparation for single-cell assays and conducting various quantification methods.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- An Associate Degree in biology, biochemistry, or a related field; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a laboratory or biotech setting.
- Experience in an aseptic environment and familiarity with biomedical equipment.
