Position Overview:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department is tasked with the comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for patients presenting with a diverse range of medical issues across all age groups.
The RN holds the responsibility for overseeing the delegation of care to other healthcare professionals, ensuring optimal patient outcomes, and reporting to the nursing supervisor or medical staff as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and document individualized nursing care plans.
- Assist physicians during examinations and medical procedures.
- Perform various diagnostic tests and administer medications in accordance with nursing protocols.
- Promote patient autonomy by setting care objectives and educating patients and their families on health conditions, medication management, and self-care techniques.
- Utilize clinical experience and judgment to achieve care goals and execute a variety of nursing tasks.
Qualifications:
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Active Florida Registered Nurse License (RN) or an approved multi-state license
- Educational background: Technical School/2 Years College/Associate's Degree
- American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
