Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols of assigned premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules and regulations
  • Thoroughly examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure proper function and security
  • Warn violators of premise rules and regulations, and apprehend or expel persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts
  • Report any facility issues, such as fire hazards and leaking water pipes, to management
  • Request emergency personnel for high-risk situations

Requirements

  • Virginia Armed DCJS License (training available for candidates who meet other requirements)
  • Highly preferred 2 years of armed security, military, law enforcement, or corrections experience
  • Ability to meet physical requirements, including standing, walking, climbing stairs, running, and physically restraining a violent person
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • First Aid and CPR/AED certification
