Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced critical care physician to join our faculty at the University of Texas Health San Antonio. As a critical care physician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, teaching and mentoring residents and medical students, and participating in administrative duties and committee service.
Responsibilities:- Participate in call coverage and provide critical care services to patients at University Hospital and other clinical venues.
- Teach and mentor residents and medical students in critical care medicine, including didactic lectures, simulation training, and workshops.
- Oversee and direct patient care provided by Advanced Practice Providers.
- Participate in administrative duties and committee service as assigned.
- Provide resident training in clinical settings and mentor residents as assigned.
- Pursue scholarly activity to stay abreast of modern technology and medical advances in anesthesiology.
- Active critical care practice in the past 12 months is required.
- Expertise or prior experience with liver transplantation, cardiothoracic surgery, lung transplantation, and ECMO is highly desirable.
- Board Certification or board eligibility in critical care medicine through any primary specialty board (Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Surgery) is required.
- Valid DEA Registration Number (Controlled Substance Registration Certificate) is required.
