Compensation: $15.37 per hour
Employment Type: Full-time, Part-time, and PRN positions available
Role Purpose:
The primary role of the Support Specialist is to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in leading a safe, self-sufficient life while actively participating in their communities.
This position involves aiding individuals with varying degrees of intellectual disabilities in achieving a self-directed lifestyle and contributing positively to their community. Responsibilities include supporting daily living activities as necessary and fostering attitudes and behaviors that promote community inclusion. As a Support Specialist, you will provide assistance in home, work, and community settings.
Essential Skills:
The role of a Support Specialist is crucial and requires a blend of compassion, creativity, and integrity when working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Key skills include but are not limited to:
- Delivering quality care to individuals in their residences
- Ensuring that supports and services are centered around the individual
- Providing daily meal options, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner
- Promoting both physical health and emotional well-being
- Managing finances responsibly and transparently
- Maintaining confidentiality of personal information
- Transporting individuals to medical appointments, educational institutions, workplaces, and community activities
- Encouraging the formation of new relationships
- Supporting the maintenance of existing relationships
- Documenting daily activities and reports electronically
Available Shifts:
Full Time: Monday-Friday with various shifts available
Part Time: Weekend shifts available
PRN: As determined by management
