Position Title: School-Based Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)

Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathology Assistant to support the delivery of speech and language therapy services within an educational setting. In this role, you will collaborate with licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to enhance the communication skills of students with speech and language challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist SLPs in performing assessments and screenings for students experiencing speech and language difficulties.
  • Implement therapy strategies and plans as directed by the supervising SLP.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students, either individually or in small groups.
  • Maintain documentation of student progress and provide updates to the supervising SLP.
  • Support the creation of educational materials and resources for therapy sessions.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and school staff to address students' communication needs in the classroom.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • Current licensure or certification as an SLPA.
  • Experience in working with children in educational or clinical environments is highly valued.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to function effectively within a team.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Capability to adapt to the diverse needs of students.
