Job Title: Workday Financial Analyst

Location: Prince Frederick, MD - 20678 (Onsite)

Duration: 6-Months Contract to Hire

Job Summary:

This position performs a range of finance analytical duties in the Department of Finance and Budget. The role involves maintaining, supporting, and customizing financial systems, including the department's ERP system, supporting system modules, and standalone software applications. The position will be responsible for creating financial reports, performing design and document system updates, improving workflows, and making recommendations to positively impact operational effectiveness.

The position reports to the Deputy Director of Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain the optimal function of the finance software systems, including installation, customization, development, maintenance, and upgrade of applications, systems, and modules.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, Finance and Budget staff, and cross-functional teams to identify business needs, document requirements, and develop project plans for system improvements and enhancements.
  • Determine, establish, and document operational workflows by analyzing and mapping out processes to optimize efficiency.
  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to finance software systems users.
  • Manage permissions, access, personalization, and similar system operations and settings for the financial software systems users.
  • Program custom functions and documentation such as automated queries, filters, macros, and reports.
  • Compile or assist with the acquisition of complex data reports, summaries, and logs for senior executives and Finance and Budget staff.
  • Serve as lead representative and liaison between Finance and Budget, information services, external vendors, and other stakeholders for financial software systems design and implementation projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Five years of progressively responsible experience in business software applications, report generation, proficiency in advanced financial applications, financial systems analysis, or financial reporting.
  • Experience with Workday Financials and Workday Adaptive Planning is strongly preferred.
  • PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or other relevant certifications are preferred.
