Telecommunications Installation Specialist

Job Summary:

Bowhead is seeking a skilled Telecommunications Installation Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide physical telecommunications installation support for our Corporate Network Design, Engineering and Installation (DE&I) group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform installation, termination, labeling, and testing of optical fiber and twisted pair cables for voice, video, and data through cable trays and conduits at both ends (patch panels and blocks).
  • Assist in building telecommunication rooms while adhering to applicable standards and specifications.
  • Perform testing and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems, including Entrance Facilities, Equipment Rooms, Backbone Cabling, Telecommunications Room, Horizontal Cabling, and Work Area's.
  • Ensure transmission fundamentals of copper and fiber media are maintained.
  • Install, test, and label surface or wall mount networking outlets for both types of media (Copper and/or Fiber).
  • Document configuration changes and provide to the Installation Team Lead for incorporation into the Communications Diagrams.
  • Install Cable Support Systems, including Conduits, Cable Tray, and Vertical raceway.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and up to two (0-2) years' experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, good documentation skills, ability to write clear, concise project reports.
  • Ability to lift up to 10-15 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time.
  • Ability to twist, bend, and squat periodically.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
