Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented pharmacist to provide pharmacy services to patients, nurses, physicians, and other medical staff by interpreting and evaluating the validity and safety of orders and prescriptions.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that medications are handled in the facility in a manner that protects the safety and welfare of the patient.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for medication handling and distribution, including receipt, storage, recordkeeping, and accountability of prescription medications.
  • Ensure the maximum level of safety and efficacy in the provision of pharmaceutical services.
  • Document all visits and activities, including irregularities.
  • Provide training to facility staff on medication administration, adverse reactions, and special diets.
  • Maintain patient profiles and dispense take-home medication to eligible patients.
  • Conduct biennial inventory and participate in regulatory agency surveys or audits.
  • Conduct all business activities in a professional and ethical manner.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy.
  • Currently licensed as Pharmacist in New Mexico.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Understanding of HIPAA, Federal, State, and CARF standards and regulations.
  • Knowledge of medications that interfere with the effectiveness of methadone.
  • Ability to recognize overdose of methadone and take appropriate action.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent documentation and computer skills.
  • Knowledge of local community drug trends and addiction treatment.
  • Ability to work effectively within medical hierarchy and assist in complex problem solving.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population and exhibit excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of Code of Pharmacy Regulations in the State where assigned.
  • Ability to supervise personnel.
