Sentara Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Medical/Surgical Stroke/Cardiac Unit.

Employment Type: Full-time - 36 Hours Weekly (12-Hour Shifts)

Work Schedule: Weekend Night - 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Qualifications - one of the following is required:

  • Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program
  • Registered Nurse License (Virginia License and/or Compact/Multi-State)
  • Students currently completing an accredited nursing program
  • Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License


This unit consists of 24 beds dedicated to Medical/Surgical Cardiac care, where we monitor patients through telemetry. Patients are evaluated to determine the next steps in their treatment, which may include cardiac catheterization, transfer to a specialized heart hospital for surgical intervention, or diagnostic testing such as stress tests or echocardiograms.
