About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Math teacher to join our team at ReNEW Schools. As a Math Teacher - Therapeutic Program Specialist, you will be responsible for teaching math to students in grades 3-8 and providing support to students with severe behavioral and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Instructional Plans
    • Design and deliver math lessons aligned to Louisiana Student Standards
    • Use data to inform instruction and adjust plans as needed
  • Provide Behavioral Support
    • Work with students to develop social and emotional skills
    • Implement strategies to support students with severe behavioral and mental health needs
  • Collaborate with Colleagues
    • Work with other teachers and staff to develop and implement school-wide initiatives
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to improve instructional practices
  • Communicate with Parents and Guardians
    • Regularly communicate with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress
    • Work with parents and guardians to develop strategies to support student success
Requirements
  • Experience
    • At least 2 years of urban teaching experience with a record of student achievement
    • Experience working in a substantially separate setting, which meets the needs of students with severe behavioral and mental health needs
