About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager or Senior Manager to join our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice at KPMG. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical advice on multi-state tax issues, assisting multi-state companies with state and local tax compliance, and working with clients to identify new marketplace opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical advice on multi-state tax issues, including compliance, advising, planning, structuring, and controversies.
  • Assist multi-state companies with state and local tax compliance, including preparing and reviewing state income tax returns.
  • Work with clients to identify new marketplace opportunities and grow the KPMG tax practice.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop staff.
Requirements
  • Minimum five years of recent experience performing tax research, preparing/reviewing state income tax returns for corporate entities, and providing technical advice on multi-state tax issues.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; licensed CPA, JD/LLM, EA or MTX, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing.
  • Able to foster relationships both internally and with clients.
  • Exceptional writing, compliance, communication, management, and tax research skills.
Additional Requirements for Senior Manager
  • Minimum eight years of recent experience performing tax research, reviewing state income tax returns, and providing technical advice on multi-state tax issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams delivering state and local income tax compliance and/or consulting services.
