Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Specialist III to join our team at the Health and Human Services Commission. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing complex maintenance and repair work on building systems, including plumbing, HVAC, welding, carpentry, painting, and electrical.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections, adjustments, installations, and maintenance of building systems to ensure proper functioning and safety
  • Perform repairs and renovations to modernize buildings and adapt them to new uses
  • Select and order necessary materials and supplies for repairs and maintenance
  • Accurately complete and maintain records on work orders, projects, and material requisitions
  • Operate heavy machinery, such as backhoes and forklifts, as needed
  • Train and provide guidance to others on proper procedures and methods for repairs and inspections
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a maintenance or facilities role; journey-level experience in one or more building trades preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle
