About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Construction Superintendent to oversee the construction of a retail strip mall project. With a minimum of 5 years of ground-up construction experience, you will be responsible for managing all on-site activities from start to finish. This includes coordinating and supervising subcontractors, enforcing safety protocols, and ensuring work is completed on schedule and within budget.

Our client is a leading General Contractor and Owner's Rep specializing in delivering high-quality commercial construction projects. We create functional and aesthetic spaces, including retail strip malls, and are committed to excellence and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all on-site construction activities for the strip mall project from start to finish.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors to ensure work is completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Enforce safety protocols and compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
  • Monitor project progress, resolve any issues, and report updates to the project manager.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to ensure accuracy during construction.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work aligns with design and quality expectations.
  • Schedule and oversee material deliveries and inventory to maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Foster strong communication with subcontractors, clients, and the project team to ensure alignment and success.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a superintendent in ground-up construction projects, preferably retail or commercial.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and processes.
  • Ability to effectively manage and coordinate subcontractors.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents and blueprints.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills and project management software is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to the job site as needed.
