Job Overview

Position Summary

The Lead Electrician is responsible for executing all tasks associated with an Electrician 'A' role and operates independently. This individual must have the expertise to complete assignments without relying on other personnel from the Maintenance Shop. Reporting directly to the Supervisor of the Electric Shop, this position plays a crucial role in ensuring operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses and resolves issues with electrical control circuits effectively.
  • Modifies current control circuits and develops new designs as required to ensure optimal machine functionality.
  • Handles disconnection and reconnection of piping, including coupling installation and alignment, as well as drilling and tapping tasks.
  • Possesses knowledge of PLC operations and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Evaluates breakdowns to determine causes, corrective measures, and potential additional damage.
  • Identifies necessary parts and completes paperwork for ordering or reordering supplies.
  • Available for on-call duties at all hours.
  • Undertakes additional responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Completion of a 4-year apprenticeship is preferred but not mandatory.

  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus but not mandatory.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with employees, management, executives, and clients.

Reasoning Skills

  • Able to identify, define, and resolve issues, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Capable of interpreting a wide range of instructions in mathematical, written, or oral formats.
  • Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting operating and maintenance instructions or regulations.
