Job Summary

This is a challenging opportunity to join the United States Marine Corps as a Financial Management Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing financial resources, coordinating audits, and conducting comprehensive budget reviews and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process to manage appropriations for Research, Development, Test & Evaluation (RDT&E), Procurement, and Operations and Maintenance.
  • Utilize the Financial Management Regulation (FAR) and demonstrate experience with the Defense Acquisition Management System (DAMS).
  • Collaborate with program office financial personnel on budget year estimates and active year allocations to ensure efficient and effective management of funds.
  • Prepare and issue time-phased schedules and plans to manage the acquisition process, creating reports to support program decisions, monitor progress, and assess program accomplishments.
  • Conduct studies, analyze financial data to improve processes and reporting, and review MCSC policies, providing comments and recommendations on financial management instructions and guidance.
  • Monitor, review, and analyze the execution of approved budgets, evaluate reports on budget and program activities, and determine the amount and timing for issuing funding documents to meet established goals.
  • Track active year funding for allocation, obligation, and expenditure, extract data from various systems to inform financial recommendations, and prepare and deliver briefings and instructions.
Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Males born after must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Implementing the PPBE process while managing appropriations for RDT&E, Procurement, and Operations and Maintenance.
  • Utilizing the FAR and demonstrating experience with the DAMS.
Education

This job does not have an education qualification requirement.

Additional Information

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
