Job Summary

The Day Porter position at ABM is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a skilled maintenance professional. As a Maintenance Porter, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of assigned areas, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all clients.

Key Responsibilities

This role involves performing various cleaning and maintenance duties, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming building floors; using ladders to dust and wash furniture, walls, machines, and equipment; and washing and replacing blinds. Additionally, you will mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications and strip, seal, finish, and polish floors. You may also be required to gather and empty trash, wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas, and clean and polish furniture and fixtures.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, co-workers, and management. You should also be physically fit, able to lift heavy objects, and comfortable working at heights. It would be beneficial if you have prior experience in a similar role, particularly in customer-facing environments.
