Job Description for Construction Specialist

At Wide Effect, we are seeking a skilled Construction Specialist to join our team.

Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities:
  • BUILD AND ASSEMBLE STRUCTURAL FRAMEWORKS: Construct and assemble structural frameworks for various construction projects, ensuring precision and stability.
  • INTERPRET BLUEPRINTS AND SPECIFICATIONS: Carefully read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to guide construction activities.
  • MATERIAL HANDLING: Measure, cut, and shape materials accurately and efficiently.
  • SITE SAFETY: Ensure structures are level, plumb, and meet safety standards, following established protocols and guidelines.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • FRAMING EXPERIENCE: Possess experience in framing carpentry with a proven track record of successful project completion.
  • TOOL PROFICIENCY: Demonstrate proficiency in using various carpentry tools and equipment.
  • BLUEPRINT READING SKILLS: Show the ability to read and understand blueprints, plans, and specifications.
  • NUMERICAL SKILLS: Possess strong math skills to ensure accurate calculations and measurements.
  • PHYSICAL FITNESS: Be physically fit to handle lifting, working at heights, and performing other physically demanding tasks.
  • ATTENTION TO DETAIL: Display attention to detail and effective problem-solving skills to overcome obstacles on-site.
  • COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Demonstrate effective communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders.
Education and Certifications:
  • EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: Hold a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • VOCATIONAL TRAINING: Preferably possess vocational training or certification in carpentry or a related field.
  • SAFETY CERTIFICATION: May require OSHA or safety certification to work safely and effectively on-site.
Work Environment:
  • OUTDOOR WORK: Primarily work outdoors on various construction sites.
  • PETTY DEMANDING TASKS: Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and working at heights.
