Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux System Administrator/Network to support our Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) customer in achieving their mission and vision.

The ideal candidate will possess in-depth Linux configuration experience, a full understanding of computer system design and implementation, and experience maintaining complex computer systems from multiple perspectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure and administer Linux operating systems
  • Maintain complex computer systems, including Linux system administration and Linux shell scripting
  • Implement and manage network devices and configurations
  • Employ technical skills independently and securely
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience
  • Linux background, with Red Hat Linux experience preferred
  • Soft skills, including communication, organization, and teamwork
  • Hardware skills, including removing and replacing system components and installing hardware and operating systems
  • Knowledge of networking devices and fundamentals of IP addressing, routing, ACLs, and configurations
  • Data analysis and Linux shell scripting skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of software development and engineering processes
  • Requirements development
  • Java, SQL, and XML familiarity
  • NAS flight processing and TBFM experience
