About Us

Bluffton Okatie Surgery Center is a state-of-the-art, multi-specialty surgical center.

We are seeking an experienced PART-TIME SURGICAL TECHNICIAN to join our clinical team.

  • Surgical technicians play a vital role in hospital operating rooms and similar environments by assisting surgeons and other medical professionals.
  • The successful candidate will prepare patients, rooms, and equipment for pending surgical procedures.
  • They will assist during procedures as part of a team of operating room professionals.
  • A key responsibility will be to ensure sterile procedures/protocols are followed at all times.
  • In preparing operating rooms, they will ensure all necessary equipment is properly disinfected and assembled.
  • They will check that equipment is in working order before each procedure.
  • During operations, they will place sterile solutions in areas where they can be easily reached by doctors.
  • They will clean, shave, and disinfect areas of the body that will be operated on.
  • The technician will manage patient positioning on the operating table using sterile surgical drapes.
  • They will monitor patients' vital signs and observe their status during procedures.
  • Passing sterile surgical equipment, such as scalpels and forceps, to surgeons will also be an essential part of the job.
  • The ideal candidate may also be responsible for cutting sutures, tracking items like sponges and needles, operating lights, and helping to dress wounds.
RequirementsKey Skills:
  • A high school graduate or equivalent is required.
  • Previous clinical experience in an Operating Room environment is highly desirable.
  • Certification in OR Technology or Surgical Technology approved by SC state is mandatory unless grandfathered or excluded per regulation.
  • Current certification in CPR is also required.
  • A collaborative and positive disposition towards teamwork is essential for success in this role.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $52,500, based on market conditions and industry standards.
