UG Operator

We are seeking a skilled UG Operator to join our construction team at Southeast Utilities of Georgia, a Congruex company. As a UG Operator, you will be responsible for operating various types of equipment in a safe and efficient manner while digging around existing utilities.

• Inspect and maintain equipment, including drill heads, water trucks, and mud vacs.
• Fill water trucks with water and confirm mud vacs are empty.
• Assist in preparing materials for the workday and help locate utilities.
• Dig entry and exit pits, set up drills, and choose the correct drill head based on soil conditions.
• Drill boreholes following instructions from the locator and pull back product once drilled out.
• Monitor tailings to maintain correct flow and help sweep product into place.
• Load and unload drills and excavators, and move equipment between jobs.

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
• Expertise in operating trenching and excavation equipment.
• Proficiency in operating heavy machinery, such as backhoes and excavators.
• Ability to read utility maps and use utility locating equipment.
• Familiarity with utility marking codes and their significance in avoiding conflicts during excavation.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and possess a valid driver's license.
• Meet physical demands, including lifting up to 80 lbs.
