Position Summary:

The Component Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling parts for KHS USA machines by adhering to engineering blueprints, written specifications, and verbal guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, review, and prepare assembly kits; examine build manuals that include drawings and bills of materials; organize parts and materials according to sales order specifications.
  • Inspect and prepare components; this may involve refining edges and ensuring a precise fit between parts.
  • Utilize hand tools to drill, tap, or ream holes in metal components.
  • Align and secure components using bolts, screws, or various hardware.
  • Employ fixtures to assemble basic assemblies.
  • Conduct inspections of assemblies under the supervision of a lead assembler.
  • Test or assist in testing the functionality of the finished product.

Candidate Profile:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with at least six months of experience in a machine shop or related field; or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Possess mechanical and technical skills to construct components accurately according to engineering specifications within designated production timelines.
  • Exhibit safe practices in the use of hand tools and manufacturing equipment.
  • Demonstrate good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
