Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Insurance Coordinator to join our team at South Shore Health. As an Insurance Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless patient admissions and insurance verification for our Cardiac Rehabilitation department.

Your primary focus will be on verifying patient insurance coverage, obtaining pre-authorizations, and coordinating with third-party payers to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement. You will also be responsible for scheduling appointments, collecting co-payments, and providing exceptional customer service to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorizations as needed
  • Coordinate with third-party payers to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families
  • Work collaboratively with the Cardiac Rehabilitation team to ensure seamless patient admissions and care
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of experience in business office and health insurance verification and referral management
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical knowledge
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
