Job Description

We are seeking an experienced technician to lead our team in performing preventative maintenance and repairs of all levels on various types of equipment. Your skills and experience will be recognized, and you'll have the opportunity to work on lots of different types of equipment, not just one manufacturer. Main Responsibilities
  • Maintain and ensure vehicles are safe for our customers by performing preventative maintenance services with little or no supervision and in a timely manner.
  • Repair and troubleshoot major components such as engines, transmissions, and differentials, including replacing complete assemblies, turbochargers, fuel system components, etc.
  • Keep your work area clean and safe while using Penske's tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
  • Learn new skills through Penske's technician training and work on other projects and tasks as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • 6 years of practical experience with truck and tractor-trailer maintenance
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
  • Specialized training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials), OEM training courses, ASE Certification, and 608/609 certifications (preferred)
  • Experienced using all tools of the trade (including welding equipment, diagnostic equipment, and hand and power tools)
  • Valid driver's license required, CDL preferred
  • The ability to solve problems and provide excellent customer service
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
