At Research Medical Center, we're committed to the growth and development of our future nurses. Our Neuro Step Down Unit is a 16-bed unit focused on TBI, Stroke, and Neuro Patients. We work closely with our Neuro ICU at Research Medical Center, a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Our Nurse Residency Program

Our HCA Healthcare Nurse Residency Program is a year-long program designed to give you hands-on experience to help establish valuable clinical and critical thinking skills. As a Resident I Graduate Nurse, you'll be surrounded by a supportive community of nurse educators, experienced nurses, and fellow residents that promote learning, clinical application, and socialization.

Job Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse RN in our Neuro Step Down Unit, you'll coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department. You'll work collaboratively with medical providers and other members of the care team to provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models.

You'll assess patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status. You'll perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). You'll document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.

You'll teach patients, families, and caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications, and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. You'll translate complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.

Requirements
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State
  • No previous experience needed
  • Some travel may be needed for training
