Position Overview:

  • This role is dedicated to overseeing all tasks related to cleanliness (including offices, restrooms, break areas, storage spaces, and outdoor premises), minor maintenance, and the sanitation of equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to established Work Instruction protocols for sanitation and chemical management.
  • Conduct daily sanitary upkeep of the office environment, which encompasses restrooms, laboratories, and break rooms.
  • Maintain the Master Cleaning Schedule and ensure all documentation is completed as required.
  • Execute basic maintenance tasks such as caulking, painting, and pressure washing.
  • Identify and report any issues concerning Food Safety and Food Quality.
  • Collaborate with Supervisors and plant management to clean specified areas.
  • Work in conjunction with the operations team to guarantee that all spaces are kept clean consistently.
  • Perform sanitation on equipment as necessary.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of facility grounds.
  • Operate Powered Industrial Vehicles, including but not limited to Forklifts, Scissor lifts, and Telescopic boom lifts.
  • Comply with GMP and other quality assurance processes and procedures.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned.
  • Commit to adhering to food safety and quality system standards by fulfilling all relevant regulatory, customer, and SQF requirements.
Qualifications:

A. Education and Experience:

  • Experience in a food manufacturing setting is essential.
  • Prior experience in the food industry is advantageous.

B. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must demonstrate adaptability and flexibility.
  • Effective communication skills to understand role expectations.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proficient recordkeeping and documentation skills.
  • Basic understanding of necessary documentation for processes.

Nonessential Qualifications:

  • Basic proficiency in speaking and writing English.

Materials and Equipment Utilized:

  • Forklifts and other manufacturing equipment for the handling and management of materials.
  • Office equipment such as calculators, computers, printers, and copiers.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and climbing are required.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate equipment and tools.
  • Normal hearing and vision range is necessary for recording and preparing reports.
  • Ability to lift up to 75+ pounds and exposure to machines, chemicals, and solvents.

Work Environment:

  • Work conditions may vary from hot, humid, dusty, to cold depending on the season.
  • Must be able to follow vague and implicit instructions and respond appropriately in various work situations.
  • Mental adaptability and flexibility in dealing with diverse individuals and conditions are crucial.
  • Emotional stability and personal maturity are important attributes for this role.
  • Effective communication skills are essential.
  • Basic math skills are required as needed.
