CNC Machinist

Whitworth Tool is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team in a full-time position. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and setting up CNC machines to perform various machine functions on metal workpieces.

• Measure and record dimensional call-outs for part requirements using provided gages.
• Operate a crane or hoist to lift workpieces into the machine as needed.
• Keep the machine and immediate work area clean and organized.
• Adjust machine controls and tooling according to part measurements.
• Index inserted tooling and locate tooling and supplies from the tool crib.
• Check and maintain oil and coolant levels in the machine.
• Deburr and polish parts to specification.
• Adjust offsets according to requirement and change out tooling as needed.
• Touch off and set all tooling required for the job.
• Compare print dimensions to check sheet dimensions and edit basic programs.
• Figure SFM (Surface Feet per Minute) and feed rates for tooling.
• Load and unload programs to/from machines and computer.
• Perform basic machine setup from part to part.
• Understand and show proficiency in all measuring instruments.
• Check the calibration for all measuring instruments needed.

• Competency in all Operator - Level 2 Essential Functions.
• Proficiency in computer skills as described in Essential Functions Statements.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately and thoroughly.
• Ability to work at a sustained pace and produce quality work.
• Ability to identify conditions that affect employee safety and notify your supervisor.
• Ability to adhere to company's safety guidelines.

Work will be performed indoors, well-lit with air-conditioning.
