Special Education Teacher in Prosper, TX Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our dynamic team.
Job OverviewThe ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of diverse learning needs and will be committed to creating an inclusive and supportive educational environment.
Responsibilities- Instruction and Support
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student.
- Design and deliver engaging, differentiated instructional activities that accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching methods and materials as needed.
- Classroom Management
- Create and maintain a positive, supportive, and safe classroom environment.
- Employ behavioral management strategies to address and resolve issues that may impact student learning.
- Foster a classroom culture of respect, empathy, and inclusivity.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and administrators to ensure a cohesive educational experience for students.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, needs, and any concerns.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational goals and strategies.
- Professional Development
- Stay current with best practices in special education and incorporate new strategies into teaching.
- Attend professional development workshops and trainings as required.
- Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior.
- Prepare reports and documentation as required by the school district and state regulations.
- Education and Certification
- Bachelors degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- Valid Texas Special Education Certification (Teacher of Students with Disabilities or equivalent).
- Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in special education (preferred but not required).
- Experience with various disabilities and learning challenges, including autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, and emotional disturbances.
- Skills and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the needs of each student.
- Estimated Salary
- $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
