Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Nurse Surveyor I to join our team at the Kentucky Personnel Cabinet. This role is an excellent opportunity for a licensed practical nurse to utilize their clinical skills to improve healthcare in Kentucky.

This position offers a unique chance to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals, including the sick, aged, and those with disabilities. As a Nurse Surveyor I, you will be responsible for enforcing state licensing regulations for health facilities, conducting certification surveys, and evaluating compliance with CMS regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Assist senior surveyors in completing annual Long Term Care (LTC) recertification survey processes to determine compliance with Medicare and Medicaid requirements.
  • Conduct routine, acute, continuing care, and LTC surveys, including initial certification and complaint investigation surveys.
  • Collections and analyze nursing assessment data to assess compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop program information, analysis of situations, and explanatory materials, including written communication, reports, and statements of deficiency.
  • Evaluate corrective measures taken in instances of non-compliance with prescribed rules, regulations, and policies.
Requirements
  • Licensed as a practical nurse in Kentucky or possess a valid work permit issued by the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
  • Maintain required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials throughout employment.
  • Good interpersonal skills with effective communication and respectful interaction.
  • Ability to interpret regulations, policy, and procedures accurately.
  • Flexibility with work schedules, assignments, travel, and overtime needs.
Estimated Salary Range:

$47,000 annually, based on location and experience.
