Job Summary:

Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College is seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach Electrical Systems Technology courses at a local correctional facility and/or high schools. The successful candidate will provide in-person instruction, focusing on the practical and theoretical aspects of electronics, to students in these unique learning environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging lectures and hands-on skill labs to meet pre-defined learning objectives.
  • Maintain accurate student roster, attendance sheets, and other required records.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Electrical Systems Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Industrial Systems Technology, Mechatronics Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum three years of applicable experience in construction, Electrical Wiring, or industrial automation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching at a community college, particularly with at-risk populations, diverse student backgrounds, and/or those who are incarcerated.
  • NCCER Certifications.
  • OSHA Authorized Trainer.
  • Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language.
