Job Title: MRI Technologist - Travel Position

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team for a travel position. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing routine and specialized examinations in MRI, adapting procedures to obtain specific diagnostic and/or therapeutic results, and preparing patients for examinations.

Responsibilities:

- Perform MRI procedures in a manner that ensures an accurate and complete examination within the guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards of Medical Imaging.
- Exhibit competency in performing MRI procedures.
- Evaluate the finished images to ensure appropriate identification and image quality are being submitted to the radiologists.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety to maintain quality care during the procedure.
- Possess knowledge and skills necessary to obtain adequate lab specimens for testing.
- Maintain working knowledge of equipment in order to function on both high field and low field magnet.
- Technically knowledgeable of equipment operation including hardware and software.
- Perform reasonable trouble shooting.
- Check equipment for general safety and report problems through appropriate channels.
- Knows terminology or jargon of all magnet strengths.
- Perform support functions of the MRI/Medical Imaging Department.
- Promptly prepare images/paperwork to ensure timely turnaround of the exams.
- Transport patients to and from the department as required.
- Promptly and accurately enter patient information into the HIS system.
- Coordinate patient flow to ensure efficient patient care.
- Ensure safe environment by monitoring people who come within zone 3 & 4.
- Demonstrate a practical problem solving approach to patient moving and handling issues.
- Demonstrate skills to promote patient and staff safety through appropriate use of lift equipment.
- Assume responsibility for training fellow technologists and students.
- Assist Lead Technologist in teaching MRI procedures to coworkers/students.

Requirements:

- Associate's Degree in the field(s) of Radiology
- OR
- Completion of an ARRT-eligible MRI program
- BLS (American Heart Assoc.)
