Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Barista I to join our team at Ho-Chunk. As a Barista I, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, educating customers about our premium organic coffees and teas, and maintaining a positive and professional attitude at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Greet all customers with a friendly smile, initiate dialogue, and develop rapport with customers by learning their names, favorite drinks, and food items.
  • Transaction Processing: Accurately process transactions through the POS and count back change to customers.
  • Communication: Answer the cafe's telephone in a friendly manner using a professional greeting, sell and service baked goods and miscellaneous food items to customers, and communicate with coworkers and management to solve problems and improve quality and service.
  • Teamwork: Assist in the opening and/or closing of the cafe, assist with baking, food prep, and catering, and contribute to a positive work environment.
Requirements
  • Experience: Some experience in making espresso drinks is helpful, but we will train the right person.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods of time, push and pull up to 40 pounds, and lift or move objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and reliable transportation.
  • Education: Preferred prior retail store experience of one (1) year.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • Maintains a valid Driver's License and be insurable under company insurance provider/program.
