Job Overview

Position Summary:

United Sleep Diagnostics, Inc. is seeking a New York State licensed Polysomnographic Technologist or a licensed Respiratory Technologist/Technician. We offer flexible work arrangements including full-time, part-time, or per diem opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited educational program in sleep technology or a related field, or equivalent experience demonstrating proficiency in all competencies required for a Sleep Technologist.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved provider.
  • Thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations and adherence to privacy policies and company standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather and assess patient information to tailor testing procedures to individual needs, collaborating with physicians and laboratory protocols.
  • Review patient history, medications, and study protocols to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Confirm medical orders and prepare all necessary documentation prior to patient visits.
  • Introduce patients to the Sleep Center and explain the testing process.
  • Set up and calibrate testing equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
  • Apply electrodes and sensors in accordance with established standards.
  • Conduct physiologic calibrations to guarantee accurate signal acquisition.
  • Perform mask fittings for positive airway pressure (PAP) therapy.
  • Execute various sleep studies following established protocols to collect relevant data.
  • Document and report observations, including sleep stages and significant clinical events.
  • Implement necessary interventions to ensure patient safety and effective treatment.
  • Verify the integrity of collected data and finalize the data collection process.
  • Demonstrate the ability to provide age-appropriate care across diverse patient populations.
  • Oversee complex procedures and therapeutic interventions.
  • Score sleep stages and clinical events based on accepted guidelines.
  • Generate detailed reports summarizing sleep and clinical event data.
  • Adhere to safety and infection control regulations.
  • Maintain and care for equipment used in sleep studies.
  • Address participant inquiries regarding study procedures.
  • Exhibit analytical skills to navigate complex situations and apply relevant policies.
  • Comply with professional standards of conduct.

Compensation and Benefits:
