Position Overview:

As an Overhead Crane Specialist at Steel Technologies, your primary duty involves the operation of cranes to lift and transport materials, equipment, and products efficiently.

Attention to detail is essential for conducting regular inspections of equipment, identifying defects, securing loads, and ensuring materials are loaded according to client specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily inspections of crane equipment and maintain accurate documentation
  • Operate overhead cranes to move materials between storage areas, workstations, and trucks
  • Identify and locate materials based on production requirements
  • Retrieve materials from storage, verify accuracy, and transfer to designated machine areas
  • Transport materials from machinery to packaging and weighing scales
  • Replace slitter heads and manage scrap hoppers as necessary
  • Stay current with crane operation training and certifications
  • Report safety issues and quality concerns to supervisors or shift leads
