Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Class A Delivery Driver to join our team at Performance Food Group. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for delivering and unloading food and food-related products to customers in a safe and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and coworkers to ensure accurate and timely responses to inquiries.
  • Function as a team player within the department and organization, performing duties as assigned to best serve the company.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip safety checks, including inspections of the tractor/truck and trailer, to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Report any safety issues or repairs required.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
  • Deliver and unload products to customers according to predetermined routes and schedules.
  • Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures.
  • Collect payment (cash or checks) where required and load customer returns onto the trailer.
  • Ensure the tractor, trailer, and freight are properly locked and secured.
Requirements
  • Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
