Procurement Specialist

RD Rubber Technology Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Buyer Planner to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling all activities in the production department and executing and managing functions related to the procurement of raw materials, components, tooling, equipment, other supplies, and purchased services.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate manufacturing operations with strategic scheduling and planning activities to manufacture high-quality products at the lowest possible cost.
- Review operational processes and recommend improvements by analyzing operations, designing workflows, and production processes to increase efficiency and ensure final products meet established quality standards.
- Understand and enforce policies and guidelines regarding the ethical conduct of purchasing activities.
- Plan and coordinate production activities, establishing production priorities for products in accordance with effective operations and cost factors.
- Coordinate production activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of staffing, machines, and materials.
- Create and maintain master and daily production schedules and priorities to best meet customer needs.
- Implement daily timekeeping and analysis.
- Inform management of production statistics and recommend forecasts for future production.
- Communicate with management regarding production schedules and production problems.
- Develop and coordinate staff training, safety procedures, and protocols facility-wide.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with a safe work environment, incorporating housekeeping standards (6S).
- Purchase raw materials, components, tooling, equipment, shop supplies, and purchased services, complying with purchasing requisition protocols and recording expiration guidelines on all materials received.
- Issue, review, and audit purchase orders to verify accuracy, terminology, specifications, and track the status of requisitions, contracts, orders, and delivery.
- Audit shipments in conjunction with incoming Inspection and Receiving to ensure orders are correct, goods meet specifications, and/or resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and monitor monthly forecasting and planning to support the company with purchasing requirements, continuously monitoring market demand and supply specifically for materials.
- Establish and direct a cost reduction program aimed at lowering overall purchased goods costs, including accurate standard costs and price lists.
- Negotiate and complete material/supply and outside processing quotes, price, and delivery terms.
- Negotiate purchase contracts, source new vendors for cost and/or lead times reduction initiatives.
- Plan and coordinate production activities, establishing production priorities for orders in accordance with effective operations and cost factors to obtain optimum production and utilization of staffing, machines, and materials.
- Analyze, monitor, and control inventory supply and demand for production work order, equipment maintenance, and spares, shop, and office supplies, reporting monthly inventory on materials, supplies, equipment spares, and tools (MRP).
- Collaborate with Customer Service, Production, Quality Control, and Shipping and Receiving departments on planning and scheduling, revising production schedules and priorities to best meet customer needs.
- Support a robust supply chain by maintaining regular communication with major vendors/suppliers to discuss issues/concerns and maintain good working relationships, identifying alternate vendors and suppliers.
- Establish, maintain, and monitor a vendor performance rating system to track supplier performance, pricing, delivery, etc.
- Respond to customer service inquiries regarding order status, changes, or cancellations.
- Schedule and coordinate manufacturing production, set up, and maintenance activities and priorities utilizing Job Boss Operating System and customized company tools to best meet customer needs.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, Economics, or related field.
- Knowledge of materials procurement and resource allocation, including forecasting and production planning and scheduling.
- Relevant work experience.
- Advanced knowledge of production machinery, processes, and standards.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Documentation and organization skills.
- Technical writing skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems.
- Comply with company policies and procedure guidelines, with special attention to safety and quality regulations.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure company compliance with ISO9001, AS9100, and ITAR regulations and requirements, providing improvement and corrective action plan proposals to management.
