Job Title: Clinical Dietitian

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Dietitian to join our team at the Government of the Virgin Islands. As a Clinical Dietitian, you will be responsible for providing optimal nutritional care to patients, ensuring compliance with Joint Commission and title 22 regulations, and adhering to the standards of care in the dietetic profession.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct nutrition assessments, follow-up, and education for patients
  • Complete medical record documentation
  • Update and maintain policies and procedures for the department in accordance with hospital and Joint Commission Standards
  • Collect data for PI indicators and compile reports
  • Participate in quality improvements measures, such as tray accuracy audits, test trays, meal rounds, pre-service checklist, and temperature logs
  • Develop appropriate diets for patients
  • Review and approve menus
  • Provide in-service and education to staff
  • Participate in nutrition education in the community
  • Attend hospital committee meetings
  • Complete monthly clinical reports
  • Maintain registration status as mandated by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nutrition
  • Certified as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Possess a valid V.I. Health Card
Working Conditions:

Work in a climate-controlled and well-lighted environment with a smoke-free policy. Employee will work in an office and throughout the building daily. Has Category 1 risk of exposure to infectious diseases, but receives training in hand hygiene practices, Universal Precautions, and has access to personal protective equipment if direct exposure is anticipated; is subject to interruptions and noise daily.
