Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead initiatives involving the testing and development of electrical components for valve systems.
  • Design products in compliance with industry and regulatory standards (UL, CSA, European standards).
  • Prepare and document design studies, trade analyses, failure assessments, and testing protocols.
  • Simulate electromagnetic systems effectively during the design phase of solenoid-operated valves.
  • Assemble prototypes and conduct necessary testing.
  • Develop specifications for wiring assemblies, power supplies, PCBAs, and control modules for electronically controlled devices.
  • Program control systems for electronically managed equipment.
  • Assess field issues and propose design improvements.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and resolve production challenges.
  • Coordinate the release of design and engineering documentation with various departments.
  • Manage projects to ensure adherence to schedules and deadlines.
  • Investigate new methodologies to accelerate time-to-market and enhance the New Product Development process.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve issues, evaluate new products, and approve production samples.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE); a Master's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Robotics is advantageous.
  • Over 3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, designing and developing electromagnetic devices while collaborating with cross-functional teams; experience with solenoids and valves is preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in reading and creating electrical schematics and drawings.
  • Hands-on knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (Solidworks preferred).
  • Experience with engineering simulation tools (EM Works preferred).
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and capabilities.
  • Strong analytical skills and a willingness to learn through practical experience to address complex challenges.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in preparing FMEDA reports related to Functional Safety directives.
  • Coordination of activities pertaining to ISO documentation, including FMEA and SWOT analyses.
  • Familiarity with North American or European industry standards (UL, CSA, ATEX, IECEX, etc.).
  • Knowledge of fieldbus protocols and their applications (EtherCAT, Ethernet I/P, DeviceNet, etc.).
  • Experience with Data Acquisition Systems (DAQ) and data analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with programming and utilizing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for industrial automation and control systems is preferred.
