Position Overview:

We are looking for a skilled RN Manager for our Emergency Room to ensure the highest quality of care for our patients. Our team is dedicated to supporting one another, and we seek a passionate individual who shares our commitment to exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the management of the emergency unit in the absence of the Director, ensuring adequate resources are available based on patient needs and unit activities.
  • Assist in the development, review, and revision of unit standards to maintain high-quality care.
  • Participate in the hiring, evaluation, and training of staff, ensuring compliance with licensure and competency requirements.
  • Facilitate the orientation process for new employees, students, and volunteers in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Maintain effective communication with other departments to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Associate's Degree from an accredited nursing program (required).
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or current enrollment in a BSN program (preferred).
  • Active RN licensure in Virginia or a multi-state compact RN license eligible for practice in Virginia.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required).
  • Completion of Trauma Nursing Core Course.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or instructor status to be obtained within one year of employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) instructor certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or instructor status to be obtained within one year of employment.

Experience:

Must possess prior management experience in an Emergency Room setting.
