The Truck Weighing Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing the entire truck weighing procedure. Responsibilities encompass weighing vehicles, accurately documenting all data within a computerized weighing system, generating reports, and maintaining records. It is essential to ensure precise and thorough documentation of all scale transactions for both incoming and outgoing vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Review documentation and cargo for trucks entering and exiting the facility. Input all relevant information into the computer system.
- Prepare daily reports and maintain logs, spreadsheets, and other documentation as required.
- Monitor and record the gross, tare, and net weights of vehicles.
- Carry out additional related tasks as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory; an Associate's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of four years of experience with computerized scale systems and related software and equipment.
- Familiarity and experience with computerized scale systems and similar software and equipment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with a diverse range of customers, vendors, and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently while adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
- Physical:
- Continuous sitting, seeing, hearing, and smelling.
- Ongoing problem-solving, oral and written communication, analytical thinking, calculation, concentration, and interpersonal skills.
- Frequent eye/hand coordination, typing, handling, and wrist movement.
- Occasional bending, reaching, stretching, standing, and walking.
- Environmental:
- Constant exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, odors, and noise.
- Occasional exposure to grease, oil, chemicals, and wet conditions.
- Work is conducted indoors only, in an office environment.
