Transformative Role in Rare Neuroendocrine Diseases

Rhythm Pharmaceuticals, a dynamic and growing global team, is seeking an experienced Area Development Manager to join our mission to advance care and precision medicines for patients living with rare neuroendocrine diseases.

This is a field-based role that requires frequent travel. As an Area Development Manager, you will play a pivotal part in providing disease education for Bardet-Biedl syndrome (BBS) and acquired Hypothalamic Obesity (HO) to a targeted physician community, paving the way for a potential future launch in acquired HO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute comprehensive disease education programs aligned with company priorities and direction.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with experts and target specialists in assigned geographies, ensuring delivery of clinically focused messages.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to address customer needs related to Rhythm's genetic testing program.
  • Partner with marketing teams to develop supportive collateral materials.
  • Support marketing-driven educational webinars.
  • Participate in initiatives promoting disease education, such as industry-related congresses and medical conferences.
  • Maintain accurate data capture and reporting in the CRM system.
  • Pursue ongoing training to enhance skills and optimize execution in line with yearly objectives.
  • Optimize budget allocation within the geographic territory to achieve business goals.
  • Sustain high levels of efficiency in completing corporate and administrative responsibilities, including Healthcare Compliance training, expense reports, and other assignments by established deadlines.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of specialty pharmaceutical and/or biotech sales experience.
  • Rare disease experience strongly preferred, along with launch experience.
  • Proven track record of consistent performance in complex markets with diverse customer segments.
  • Ability to command a deep understanding of scientific data and effectively communicate it to various audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong ability to engage customers through active listening.
  • A self-motivated, highly energetic individual with the capacity to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to excel in a collaborative and accountable culture to achieve shared goals.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, coupled with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Strong organizational and operational skills, accompanied by attention to detail and sound business judgment.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulatory environments.
  • Willingness to travel up to 80% as necessary.
